Welcome to our first eNewsletter of 2008! The Land Trust Accreditation Commission is looking forward to another year of milestones for the accreditation program and to working with the over 70 land trusts applying this year. Over the holidays commissioners and staff were busy developing new resources for applicants. Please read below for more on these and other updates.
Guidance Documents Five new Guidance Documents are now available on the Commission's website at http://www.landtrustaccreditation.org/newsroom/guidance-documents. The Commission occasionally publishes Guidance Documents to help applicants interpret specific indicator practices drawn from Land Trust Standards and Practices. Guidance Documents are intended as just that – guidance for applicants. They complement information provided by the Land Trust Alliance on how to implement the practices that can be found at http://learningcenter.lta.org.
Test Yourself! Have you taken the accreditation quiz yet? If your land trust is considering applying for accreditatio Save n in 2009 or beyond, then the Are You Ready? quiz is a great place to start. Take the quiz today at http://www.landtrustaccreditation.org/downloads/AreYouReady.pdf.
Meet Accreditation Staff and Commissioners Commissioners and staff will be presenting at many upcoming regional land trust conferences, including state conferences in California, Texas and Colorado in February. Be sure to attend the accreditation workshop and bring your burning questions. We look forward to seeing you there!
